Another Lake Osoyoos Sailing Club (LOSC) Annual Regatta has come and gone. It was wonderful to have Hobie, Nacra and Viper classes participate this year. Rupert Holmes-Smith was the winner of the open catamaran competition. Hamish Ferguson took home the trophy for the National Sea Spray Championships. LOSC member Stan Storwick finished second. Overall, it was a great club event made possible due to our fabulous volunteers. The sailing season is officially underway! The 2018 National Sea Spray Championships are set to begin in a week's time, with the LOSC Spring Regatta starting the day after.
Sailors competing in either event may find a copy of the sailing instructions on our website. Either click on the button below or go to Regatta 2018 and click on the appropriate button. See you on the water! Just a reminder that our Spring Clean Up is taking place this Saturday on April 14th from 8AM to 3PM. A hot lunch will be served to all volunteers. See the post from March 21st for more details.
Also, the Spring Regatta (April 20-22) is looking for volunteers. Two more members are needed to help with the morning food preparations. If you could help with a shift or two, it would be greatly appreciated. A shift would likely be from 8AM to 1PM. One or two more people are needed to help on marks or rescue boats. A short work party has been scheduled for 2PM on Thursday, April 19th. This will be to set up the facility for the three days of the regatta. If you are able to assist, please contact John Cowan at 778-836-2710, or by email at [email protected]. Please identify the type of help for which you are interested in volunteering. All regatta volunteers are invited to the wine and cheese gathering with sailors the evening of Friday, April 21. A great big thank you to those who have already volunteered to help! |
