It's hard to believe, but the North America Sea Spray Championships and the LOSC Member X-Class regatta is only a week away.  How the summer has flown by!

If you're sailing, be sure to register before September 5th, 2017, in order to get the early-bird rate.  Online registration is available and is greatly encouraged.  Go to the Regatta 2017 section on our website and click on the appropriate registration button.

All meals will be provided to the registered sailors as per the registration form. If sailors are bringing a guest/family member, meals may be purchased in advance (see registration form for details).  Note:  Friday night supper is not provided.

In contrast to past years, there will be no purchasing of meals during the weekend.  (Meals will be provided free of charge to the volunteers who are working that particular meal.) 

If club members wish to purchase a ticket to the Saturday night dinner, they must do so by September 5th.  The cost is $22.00 per person.  Please contact Terry Ford at 250-495-5350 to make a reservation.

There will be a free wine and cheese event on Thursday at 7:00 pm for all Sea Spray and X-Class participants and their registered guests, as well as for all volunteers who will be involved in the regatta weekend.

The Lake Osoyoos Sailing Club and BC Sailing have been successful in attracting a sufficient number of kids to host a Mobile Optimist Sailing School (MOSS).  The club has been working towards this goal for the past 6 months so we are pleased to see these efforts rewarded.

Two BC Sailing instructors will be using our club as their home base for teaching and 24/7 living quarters.  The instructors will arrive during the afternoon of Saturday, August 26th, or Sunday morning, and they have been invited to join us for our regular Sunday potluck. They will be leaving either Friday, September 1st, or Saturday, September 2nd.  Please be aware that your outdoor activities at the club can continue as normal, but we request that you be respectful of their space needs for both teaching and utilizing our facilities.

The classes will run between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM daily from Monday, August 28th, to Friday, September 1st.  During these times, there will be 11 or more children between the ages of 6 to 13 at the sailing camp.  Some of their training will occur in the clubhouse, on the lawn next to the clubhouse and in the water. You are welcome to come and watch.  You are also able to access your own equipment.

Until the school is concluded and the instructors have left, we ask members not to use the kitchen and lounge area.  The one exception to this is our regular potluck dinner on Sunday.  Clubhouse washrooms, workshop and lockers can be accessed as required through the front door and workshop door.
