Online registration for the LOSC Invitational Fall Regatta and North American Sea Spray Championship is now open. Please click on the button below to be taken to the appropriate page.
The club continues to be committed with providing sailing classes for adults (+18). Our fall training session will offer beginner/intermediate classes on 4 "near-consecutive" Saturday mornings. This fall 2019, the classes will occur September 7, 21, 28 and October 5. (There is no class on September 14 due to the regatta.)
The program provides 10 hours of sail training in Laser and Club sailboats, the use of a sailboat, and the use of all required safety equipment. This program is free to LOSC members and is open to non-members at a reasonable cost. Please click on the button for relevant details. For more information or to register, contact the club via email at [email protected]. Please provide your name, phone number and a brief message requesting registration. The Lake Osoyoos Sailing Club will be hosting the 2019 North American Sea Spray Championship on September 13, 14 & 15. Concurrently, an Invitational Regatta (open to both multi-hulls and mono-hulls) will occur September 14 & 15.
Please click on the button below for the Notice of Race. Online registration will be available soon. To register online, please go to the "Regatta 2019" section under the "Regatta" header. The event promises to be full of fun, social interaction and quality racing. We are also calling on our non-racing members to be part of the action. Volunteers are needed to help with our meal offerings, which will include breakfast and lunch for sailors and guests and one social dinner. Additionally, we are requesting volunteers for race committee support, registration, marks, rescue boats, and shore team. If you are able to assist, we would be delighted and thankful. Please contact John Cowan at 778-836-2710 or by email at [email protected] and identify the type of help you are interested in. If you are unable to assist, try to drop by the club house and see some exciting races. We look forward to seeing you at the regatta! This coming Sunday is the Annual Corn Roast and BBQ. It will be held at the clubhouse at the regular potluck time. Come out and have a gnawty time!
Speaking of Sunday BBQs, hosts are still needed for August 25; September 1; and September 8. Please consider signing up. Next week, the LOSC is offering a 5-day sailing day camp program for children. Space is still available! This program will be run by BC Sailing's Mobile Optimist Sailing School (MOSS). The camp starts Monday, August 19th and runs until Friday, August 23rd. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn basic sailing skills and have a lot fun while doing so.
